What we collect
A licensed Medicare agency collects the minimum needed to compare plans and, if you choose to enrol, to submit an application. In practice that is:
- Contact details — name, telephone number, email address, ZIP code.
- Eligibility details — date of birth, Medicare number, Part A and Part B effective dates.
- Plan-relevant details — the doctors you want to keep, the prescriptions you take and their doses, and whether you have employer or retiree coverage.
- Call records — Medicare requires agents to record and retain calls about Medicare Advantage and Part D plans. You are told before a call is recorded.
We do not ask for your Social Security number in order to compare plans. Some carrier applications require it at the point of enrollment, and only then.
Why we collect it
To do the thing you asked us to do, and for no other reason. Your drug list exists so we can price a formulary. Your doctor list exists so we can check a network. Your dates exist so we can confirm which enrollment window applies to you.
We do not build profiles, we do not score leads, and we do not use your information to decide how hard to sell to you.
Who we share it with
We share personal information in exactly three circumstances.
- With a carrier, when you have told us to submit an application to that carrier.
- With CMS or a state insurance regulator, where the law requires it, including retained call recordings.
- With a service provider under contract — a quoting platform, a secure email provider — bound to use it only to provide that service.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with lead brokers, marketing networks, data aggregators or other agencies. If you have ever given a phone number to a Medicare comparison website and then received forty calls, that is what we are describing, and it is not what happens here.
How long we keep it
Enrollment records and call recordings are retained for ten years, as CMS requires. Enquiries that do not lead to an enrollment are deleted after twenty-four months. You can ask us to delete an enquiry record sooner, and we will, unless a retention rule applies to it.
Your rights
You may ask us, at any time, to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete anything we are not required to retain;
- stop contacting you, by any or all channels.
Residents of states with comprehensive privacy legislation — including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and Utah — have these rights in statute, and we extend the same treatment to everyone regardless of where they live. We respond within thirty days and we do not charge for it.
We honour browser Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out of any sale or sharing of personal information, which is straightforward here because we do neither.
